The town is situated at the foot of the West Stara Planina mountain, 400 m above sea level through the pictorial flow stream of Botunya River. Because of the therapeutic characteristics of mineral water, unique microclimate and its beautiful nature, Varshets is known as balneologist and climatic health resort of national importance.
