FIFTH SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE WITH INTERNATIONAL PARTICIPATION “CULTURAL-HISTORICAL HERITAGE: PRESERVATION, PRESENTATION, DIGITALIZATION”
From 18th to 20th of April 2019 in Veliko Tarnovo, as part of the next International Tourist Fair “Cultural Tourism” will be held the fifth scientific conference with international participation “Cultural and Historical Heritage: Preservation, Presentation, Digitization”.
The conference will be dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the return of the relics of Saint Ivan of Rila from Tаrnovo to the Rila Monastery and the 150th anniversary of the foundation of Community center “Nadezhda – 1869” in Veliko Tanovo.
The main focus of the program will be the current research trends in the field of cultural and historical heritage research as well as the bulgarian experience in the scientific presentation and digitization.
The conference will be attended by leading experts from Bulgaria, Russia, Hungary, Belarus and Germany, who will present various aspects of their work related to documenting, archiving, presenting and preserving the cultural and historical heritage.
A seminar on “Preservation, digitization and presentation of the living heritage” will be held within the forum where participants from the International Cultural Tourist Exhibition will have the opportunity to share their experiences and to discuss with their colleagues current issues from their field of activity.
Two exhibitions will accompany the 5th Scientific Conference with International Participation “Cultural and Historical Heritage: Preservation, Presentation, Digitization”.
One of the expositions is the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and the second one – “On the way to the relics of Saint Ivan of Rila” – is dedicated to the 550th anniversary of the return of the relics of St. Ivan of Rila from Tаrnovo to the Rila Monastery.
The prestigious forum unites the efforts of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, the Institute of Ethnology and Folklore with Ethnographic Museum, the National Archaeological Institute with Museum, the Scientific Archive of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria – Veliko Tarnovo Branch, Tsarevgrad Tarnov Ltd, the European Association of Folklore Festivals – EAFF and the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo.
